Data Deletion Instructions

1. Remove our app in Facebook (recommended)

This works for Facebook Pages and for Instagram accounts connected through Facebook.

1. Open Facebook and go to Settings and privacy, then Settings.
2. Open Business integrations (or Apps and websites).
3. Find Moon Websites and tap Remove.
4. When Facebook offers it, ask for your data to be deleted (send the deletion request).

Facebook then tells us automatically. We delete your connected Pages and Instagram accounts, the access tokens Meta gave us, the copies of messages and comments in your Moon HQ inbox, the statistics we saved for them (account statistics and the results of each post), and the Facebook and Instagram post IDs and links we stored. Posts waiting to go out to those accounts are stopped. Facebook shows you a confirmation code and a link to check the status.

If you only remove the app without asking for deletion, we still stop using it straight away: we delete the tokens, the inbox copies and the account statistics, and mark the accounts as disconnected so you can see what happened and reconnect if you want. The results of each post stay with that post in Moon HQ until you ask for deletion.

2. Disconnect in Moon HQ

1. Sign in to your Moon HQ dashboard.
2. Go to Social, then Accounts.
3. Tap Disconnect next to the Page or Instagram account.

We delete the access token and the inbox copies for that account straight away. When no account is left on your Facebook login, we delete that token too.

3. Email us

Email info@moonwebsites.co.uk with the subject "Delete my data" and the name of your business or Facebook Page. We will confirm who you are, delete the data within one month, and reply when it is done. If you messaged or commented on a business that uses Moon HQ, you can ask that business or us.

5. What we may keep

• Ad records and invoices (budgets, spend and our fee), for as long as the law requires for accounting.
• A one-way code of your Facebook user ID (not the ID itself) with the confirmation code, so the status check works.
• The posts the business wrote in Moon HQ (the text and pictures), without their Facebook or Instagram results or links. The business can delete them in Moon HQ.
• Posts that are already live on Facebook or Instagram stay there. Delete them on Facebook or Instagram if you want them gone.
